Trailside Point Performing Arts Academy

It has truly been my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of Trailside Point Performing Arts Academy since the fall of 2011. Since my tenure as principal, I am proud to say that Trailside Point has earned a “Highly Performing” label by the Arizona Department of Education.  Trailside Point received the A+ School of Excellence™ distinction awarded by the Arizona Educational Foundation for the first time in 2014 and again in 2018. The application process was a huge endeavor, one that required the collective effort of our entire school community!  It united everyone — students, parents, and community members – in a profound way!  The result was an enormous sense of pride and accomplishment.

I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education Degree from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Northern Arizona University.  Prior to becoming an administrator in 2008, I began my career in education, teaching junior high math in 1991.  I have also taught college courses for Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University since 2006.

Throughout my varied professional roles, I have always had a passion for equity, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and their families. I became a school administrator because I believe all children have a right to a quality education and the opportunity to reach their highest potential. It is my personal and professional goal, and the mission of Trailside Point Performing Arts Academy, to ensure that we, “through the support of family, school staff, and the community, create a safe and positive learning environment that is conducive to academic excellence, developmental growth, and citizenship to empower lifelong learners.”

Time is so very precious! I urge you to take the time to enjoy every minute of your child’s elementary educational experience. Together, as partners, we can create a strong foundation that will help prepare our students for today’s challenges and future educational success!
